Composed of three sections, comprising a row of elements with hinged pendant parts below, the pierced openwork design depicting the auspicious symbols of Jainism. The series of oval medallions along the upper section depict the fourteen auspicious dreams of Devananda, Mahavira's mother and his surrogate mother Trisala. They comprise: an elephant, a bull, a lion, Gajalakshmi, a garland, the moon, the sun, a pennant, a vase of gifts, an ornamental pond, a ship, a chariot, a bowl of jewels and a sacred fire.
