Methods for introducing the subtle illusory body, or 'Rainbow Body', are mentioned in many Tantric texts.... This painting illustrates how all appearances are, in essence, the sport, or play, of the Innate Mind of Clear Light. At the highest levels of Tantric practice, great yogis can actually attain this subtle body of light and use it to bring benefit to countless beings.

The wall inscriptions state: "Under a clear and cloudless sky, one should lie on one's back, cover the face with a cloth and follow the movements of the sun.... As the sunrays penetrate darkened room, let them fall upon a copper vessel filled with water.... The lights, rays and rainbows [reflected in a crystal] should be recognized [as the union on emptiness and appearances]."
