Exhibiting at Asian Art in London for the first time, Carlo Cristi will exhibit tangkas,bronzes, sculptures from Tibet, Nepal and India, along with fine artworks and textiles from Central Asia.
Notable a tangka of Buddha Vairochana and one of tatagatha Ratnasambhava, early 14th century, a gilt bronze Sadaksari, Yongle period,a fine nepalese gilt Saraswati.
Among central Asian textiles it is worth to mention a group of rare silk samites woven with very large roundels enclosing royal winged horses, deer, lions, a fine robe with deer in roundel and geometric border and cuffs, an islamic caftan of 10th-12th century. Among silver artworks, are notable a large pearl disk enclosing a winged unicorn, 6th-8th century, a gold cladded saddle fittings, a cup embossed with a lion.
