Appraisal Standards comply with the Appraisal Foundation's 2007 Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the Appraisal Practices and Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers. Ms. Shaver does not appraise collections in order to purchase nor sell them. All reports are confidential. An Appraisal Report is a multi page document that states the appraised value, a complete description of the property and the condition, and an analysis of the market where the property is traded. Photographs are included. All elements meet IRS requirements. Appraisal services are $200.00 per hour with a three hour minimum.
Insurance Coverage, Estate Tax and Charitable Contribution assistance are among the professional appraisal services Ms. Shaver is qualified to provide, meeting IRS requirements. Professionally, Ms. Shaver has given lectures for museums, libraries, interior designers and art related institutions. She has been featured in various newspaper and magazine articles. She has served on the Board of Directors for The Society for Asian Art at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum, and is presently a Board member of the Textile Arts Council for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Cynthia Shaver has traveled extensively in Japan and has been buying and selling Japanese antiques since 1976. After thirty years as a dealer, Ms. Shaver has a limited inventory she will continue to sell. |
