Detail: Undaunted by the postponement of the Prospect 2 Triennial, the New Orleans arts community known as SCAD (the St. Claude Arts District) is producing its own arts biennial dubbed SCAB1 (the St Claude Arts Biennial 1).
The groundbreaking event will start on the second Sat. of Nov., (the 12th) and end on the second Sat. of Dec., (the 12th). This covers 5 weekends and in the middle of this event will be the Fringe Fest. We have full blessings and co-operation from the Fringe in the hopes of showing the world our diverse and beautiful community in all its glory.
The SCAB1 is open to all art forms, artists, performers and musicians from all over the globe but its main focus is the amazing talent that lies here in our backyard.
Participation will be very simple and cost free to all who wish to participate. This is an all volunteer group working towards a common goal for the good of our community.
The SCAD area encompasses the Marigny, Bywater, St. Roch and Lower 9th Ward neighborhoods even reaching up to the Backstreet Museum and the
Jazz & Heritage Foundation.
