Detail: Lance Ribeiro (1933-2010) was born in
Bombay to a long-established Catholic
Goan family. He trained as a chartered
accountant before turning to painting,
rapidly becoming a successful artist
with a following throughout India,
Europe and North America. He settled in
Britain in the 1960s. A prolific artist,
his images were drawn from an
imagination running at full-sized,
inspired by his roots in Old Goa and by
an obsession with Catholic religious
imagery. This is his first major
exhibition in Britain for over 25 years.
