Detail: In 2014 Sotheby's reaffirmed its leading position on the French Asian Art market. The year was marked by a strong influx of buyers, especially during the sales but also during exhibitions. Collectors continued to recognise our auction house as a point of reference, particularly with regards to new-to-the-market objects, preserved for generations in French and European private collections, with reasonable estimates. This year, the growing enthusiasm for Buddhist gilt-bronze figures, jades and porcelain objects was once again confirmed, positioning Paris as a must place within the market of Asian Arts.
