Detail: Shahzia Sikander: Apparatus of Power is the first major solo presentation of Shahzia Sikander’s work in Hong Kong. This selection of works explores several aspects of the British East India Company by taking the history of Asia Society Hong Kong Center, the Former Explosives Magazine, as a point of departure. The exhibition will explore the colonial complexity in the region, both historical and current, as well as Hong Kong’s unique position within the global maritime trade. New and extant animation works, works on paper and wall drawing will be shown at the Chantal Miller Gallery.
