Detail: The exhibition includes two-and three-dimensional work by some of the most distinguished Japanese artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as by artists influenced by Japanese aesthetics and subjects. Featured are a rare album of hand-colored albumen photographs from the studio of the renowned Kimbei Kusakabe (1841 - 1934); two woodcuts by master printer Utagawa (And�) Hiroshige (1797 - 1858); and a ceramic bottle by the influential Shoji Hamada (1894 - 1978).

J. O. Nordfeldt; and several works of decorative arts, including lacquerware boxes, a bronze mirror, a porcelain bowl, and three ivory Netsuke figures.
