Millner Manolatos

Two Bodhisattvas
Tibet, 15th/16th century
gilt bronze
24.5 & 24cm high

Each standing with body in relaxed flexed pose, wearing an elaborate headdress and crown, one figure depicting Avalokitesvara, a lotus flower at his left shoulder and a figure of Amitabha surmounting the usnisa, the other depicting Maitreya with a vase issuing from a stem on his left shoulder, his headdress surmounted by a stupa.
