Nomads of Tibet and Bhutan

Nomad woman in front of a nomad tent
Phala, Tibet
1997

Dressed up in her finest clothes, this woman's finery is quite a contrast to the drab tent, woven from yak hair, that is her home. This is one of my favorite photos of Tibetan nomads. With her clothes and hat on, this nomad woman appears regal.
