MANUSCRIPT COVER <br>WITH THE “EIGHT AUSPICIOUS SYMBOLS”

This lavish cover is almost entirely covered with incised gold motifs on a pink ground. The outer border is a continuous sequence of vegetal scrolls, interrupted on the horizontal sides by a pair of peacocks facing a vase containing the nectar of immortality. The internal space, divided into geometric shapes, features three roundels with two lions, a dragon and two peacocks, and the eight auspicious symbols in the triangular spaces.
