Detail: Side View A beautiful head of Buddha slightly inclined to the right side - a graceful movement indicative of compassion. The face is modelled with a benevolent expression, the eyes half closed but alert, the lips forming a slight smile. The elongated earlobes and curly hair are boldly modelled and there are traces of black and red pigments denoting eyebrows and the pupils of the eyes, and red paint accentuating the lips, folds in the neck and urna.
