A 22k gold wedding necklace from the Chettiar community of Tamil Nadu, India

The necklace is composed of five pendants with a design of parrots at the top, and each with four "fingers", said to represent the four Vedas. The central pendant with an image of the goddess Parvati, the consort of Shiva (the Chettiar are Shaivites), set among a stylized lotus blossom. Eighteen smaller, textured cylindrical beads make up most of the length of the necklace. The top of the necklace features four rectangular beads, and is finished by a pair of cymbal shaped beads.
