Detail: Yak

A group of gold leaf appliqué plaques with paired tigers and another mythical creature amongst trees. It is possible that these plaques may have adorned a funerary headdress, but were certainly applied to another medium, textile, leather or wood.

A small gold three-dimensional Yak of exceptional quality may have adorned the top of this same headdress.

Small deer and camel type animals make up the ensemble and are shown in motion.
