Subject:Indian Ganesha Statue - Dating - Help!

Hi! Could anyone be so kind as to help me with dating the copper statue of Ganesh? It's 14in large, partly gilt and painted; 2 parts - lying rat and the statue.

Hi there

Your statue is modern. In fact, the same statue is easily available and can be bought from many statue-makers in Nepal.

Agree with Rinchen, this is modern & most likely made in Kathmandu, still very nice though commonly found.
