Subject:How to clean shipwreck porcelain?
Posted By: Charles Gillen Thu, Apr 24, 2008 IP: 69.255.22.165

I'm thinking of buying a piece of apparently genuine Kangxi shipwreck porcelain from the 1991 recovery of the Vung Tau cargo, available from a local dealer. Besides a few barnacles, the item has considerable gunk or brownish stains. What's a safe way to clean up this piece from about 1690?

I am definitely not knowledgeable, so, better wait for other replies.
