Subject:Chinese reproduction doll

I recently found what appears to be an old handmade Chinese doll, with a faded tag from "The Museum Shop." I know it's old, but obviously not antique. The doll has wooden head and hands, recycled cloth for the body, the robe is fur and fabric, with handwork and embroidered yin yang symbols on front and back. It was in the back of a drawer, is not in good shape at all, but its origin intrigues me.
How can I find out what I have and how to care for it?
Thanks-
