Subject:Asian Vase

My mother received this vase and pedestal from a neighbor as a gift as we really have no idea about. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
That's a good quality Kyoto stoneware vase from the late Meiji-to-Taisho period (circa first quarter, 20th cent.) The black writing on the bottom is a factory marking, indicating this to be the righthand vase of a pair.
Best regards,
Bill H.

Thank you for that information. I guess my next question would be is there any value to it? I guess I just would like to know whether it should be appraised/insured. Thank you very much.

Japanese,c.1890/1920,the characters are 'right' and 'five' indicating it was part of a set,
