Is this collage an early piece by Wang Yani?
It came from an Antique Dealer in Kansas City. The estate that brought it in stated the artist had done an exhibition at the Nelson Atkins Museum here in KC years ago but they could not remember the name of the artist.
Yani did an exhibit at the Nelson back in 1989. It sure looks like her early work.
It has old antique pieces of Chinese caligraphy and an ink wash drawing of a tiger on it. There is an artist seal on the drawing,
Anyone have contact with her to see if she remembers doing it?
