Subject:Any idea what this is?
Posted By: Daron Fri, Mar 05, 2010 IP: 74.244.152.36

I have a set of these. There all the same size and have the same mark on the bottom but the pattern on the front is different for each one. I received them in a wooded box that has a tie for the lid. Thanks in advance for any information :-)

If put side by side do they form a larger pattern? A map?

Cheers,
Stan

Daron, the mark on the bottom is for the Japanese Tempo Reign (1830-1844) during the Edo Period. Best regards, Bill H.

I appreciate the information Bill. Stan, I put the pieces together they do form a map. Here's some pictures of all 5 pieces in order. Hopefully this helps. Thanks again!

Have you pulled out your atlas and figured out where it is yet?

Cheers,
Stan
