Posted By: Bill H Mon, Jun 11, 2012 This naively decorated contemporary vase has been blessed with a mark of the Qing Tongzhi Reign (1862-74). Probably was made somewhere beyond the borders of Mainland China, unless quality control there is on holiday. |

Posted By: rat Mon, Jun 11, 2012 he mark reads "Da Qing Tongzhi nianzhi", in other words it's trying to be a Tongzhi period mark (1861-1875) rather than Shunzhi. as you noted however it is a recent attempt to mimic 19th century style. yes you can definitely wash the vase with soapy water. |
