Subject:need help identifying

Posted By: rat Tue, Aug 14, 2012 These are signed as being by Zhang Zhiwan (1811-1897), who I think came in first in the national civil service examination in 1847. The inscription dates these to summer 1888, but being unfamiliar with his work I can't say whether these are genuine, or simply works to which the signature and date were later added. they look pretty good from the small pics, the inscription's calligraphy looks quite good. |

Posted By: meng Mon, May 05, 2014 thank you so much for the reply and his name translation (didnt realize someone had replied as i didnt get an email notification) my biggest dilemma was and still is the name translation therefore unable to utilize the power of google. |
