Your vase or ewer bears a mark of "Tashiro Zo" (田代造 - Made by Tashiro). This was the Tashiro Porcelain Company (Tashiro Shoten) in Yokohama. which according to information developed via Google from a Japanese blog (unconfirmed but reasonable) and other sources was in business from the late Meiji period through the end of the occupation period in Japan in the mid-1950's.
Your piece, with its highly tactile Moriage slip-painted decoration, is stylistically similar to Japanese ceramics made for export from the late Victorian era (1880's-1890's) through the 1920's. Since almost all of these articles were marked "Nippon" from 1890 until around 1920, the style is synonymous with Nippon wares whether marked or not. See the link below for an unmarked example.
