Subject:Vase and plates

I think that the 2 plates are Imari., but can someone help me identify the vase?
Thanks in advance.

The two plates do look to be Japanese late Meiji-period (circa late 19th-early 20th century) Imari-palette export ware, the top example being average-quality and the other a better grade of decoration. Unless my eyes deceive me, the vase, with its brassy gilt, looks to be a late 20th century product, possibly with the pattern laid down with transfers and colors added by hand.

Best regards,

Bill H.

I'd still opine that its no older than the third quarter, 20th century. Not at all traditionally painted in the Japanese style. Also, while this kind of crackle-glaze stoneware is associated with traditional Satsuma and Kyoto ceramics, it also has been used in a huge amount of modern Chinese pottery, including attempts at cloning Japanese patterns. Crazing definitely can't be taken as a sign of antiquity nowadays.

Best regards,

Bill H.
