Subject:Box of Prints Help with Translation

Posted By: Stan Tue, Apr 30, 2013 The small text lists Hiroshige as the artist. The large text states that it is the 53 Staions of the Tokaido. The quality of the print shown makes it obvious that it is a (poor) reproduction. My guess is that you are right and the prints are not the original oban (10" X 15") size but smaller. |

Posted By: Stan Mon, Apr 29, 2013 You likely have a boxed set of reproductions of the Hoeido edition of Hiroshige's series "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido". The place names on the back are likely the station depicted in the print. For example, the print you show is station 46 - Shono. |
