Subject:Help With Mark
Posted By: Greg Bryant Wed, May 01, 2013 IP: 24.113.35.16 I have a vase that my grandparents gave me. I am trying to find out about it. So far, I understand that a portion of the mark on the bottom means :Dai Nippon". The rest I can find no reference for. Could someone help me decipher the remainder of the mark? Thanks in advance |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, May 02, 2013 The mark appears to read "Dai Nihon (or Nippon), Satsuma koku, Ryuzan Zo" (大日本, 薩摩國, 龍山造), translatable as "Made by Ryuzan in the Kingdom of Satsuma of Imperial Japan". |
