Subject:Carved skull with dragon
Posted By: Duncan Thu, May 02, 2013 IP: 81.246.102.252 I have this small (2-3 inch) carved skull with a dragon wrapped around it. It is made from a black substance that I have no clue what it is! It seems too light to be a stone and there is no grain to indicate that it is a type of wood. Any help in any aspect would be most appreciated...it might not even be asian! |

Posted By: adam Fri, May 03, 2013 Possibly a very dark amber. (The chinese and japanese both carved in this material)normally more orange than this but it does come darker...the colour of the carve lines makes me think it possibly is amber! |

Posted By: Duncan Sat, May 04, 2013 Ok the amber thing would make sense. As it is not heavy enough for anything mineral and seems not to be anything wood-like. Thanks I will have a look. |
