Posted By: Bill H Tue, May 14, 2013 This is Japanese Kyoto-style ware, meaning probably the product of a Kyoto-based studio, which may be identified by a base mark. Looks to be a humidor or perhaps tea caddy. Decoration is consistent with the late Meiji period (1868-1912).
