There's not a lot that can be said with certainty about your painting based on two near-thumbnail views of the seal and another of a strip along its edge. I'm sure those who know the most about this subject would appreciate a view of the entire piece.
The seal could be read either way, in the modern manner from left to right as Shi Shu (standard characters 石漱), with Shi being a surname. Or if read in the traditional manner from right to left, this could be the given name or style name Shushi (same characters).
One possibility is the late Chinese painter, Rong Shushi (容漱石 - 1901-1996), but I have no grounding in his works and very little in Chinese fine arts in general. Rong was a member of a group called the "Tianfeng Seven", consisting of disciples of Gao Qifeng, a founder of the Lingnan school.
Shushi embodies the operative characters from a Chinese saying, shùshízhěnliú (漱石枕流), which term the British diplomat, Chinese translator and lexicographer Herbert Giles translated as "to rinse one's mouth (with the beauty of) rocks, and pillow one's head on (the murmur of) streams", a metaphor for "Living in seclusion". Rong Shushi is said to have kept a low profile for much of his life, a trait that sounds like a hint at a connection to your mark.
Best regards,
Bill H.
