Subject:Earthenware Kendi? Where / When Made?

It is an earthenware Kendi like object. I know nothing about it and it may not even be asian, does anyone have any insight? I'm especially curious where and when it was made as well as what it is. It does not appear to have much age to it.

It is 4.25" tall and weighs 7.9 oz / 224 grams
