Subject:Geisha Theme Tea Pot Gift Set- Date Mark Help
Posted By: kay Thu, Mar 30, 2017 IP: 96.236.133.96

Hello. I am interested in getting any information about the mark, or when this might have been made. I saw a few similar online, but not with this mark. I bought it second-hand, so I am not sure if the box and set belong together. I also think it is printed and not hand-painted if that helps(when I look in a loop I can see dot patterns, but each cup is slightly different so not sure...). The mark is on the bottom of each cup and teapot, and it does not look like there ever were stickers (the set looks like it never was used). There is another mark on the side of the cups as well that is different than the bottom. And then the mark on the box is also different. I think it is beautiful, I love the theme. Thank you for any information that you might be able to share!

Here are a few more pictures in hopes that someone can help me with the marks and when it was made. Thank you again!

Your contemporary China-produced tea set appears to have a mark of "Jingdezhen Cai", meaning "Jingdezhen-Ornamented". The below link shows other new porcelain with the same mark up for auction on eBay.

Best regards,

Bill H.
