Subject:stone bat and coins carving
Posted By: david Sun, Apr 02, 2017 IP: 2607:fea8:1d5f:fe45:

Hello, Can someone please tell me if this good fortune bat and coins carving is jade and, if so, suggest a possible date on it? NOTE: I TOOK 2 SHOTS OF THE CARVING IN NATURAL LIGHT FOR BETTER VIEWING! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

It's poorly executed with what looks to have been a hand held rotary tool (like a Dremel). Thus, it is recent. The stone is unlikely to be jade. It looks like a softer stone. Did you do a scratch test?

Cheers,
Stan

Sharp eye, Stan.
That deep yellow color, is that natural, or did the photo get a "boost"?
Ernest
