Posted By: Bill H Wed, Apr 05, 2017 Very nice vase. I believe the mark could read 京都放風, which I found in use in some blogs by travelers to Kyoto. The last two characters alone can mean "to fly a kite" or "to let in fresh air" in Chinese, and I got "test the waters" out of a Chinese machine translation. Maybe one of our Japanese savants can do justice to the term. |

Posted By: Mat Wed, Apr 05, 2017 Hi, your vase is by Shofu Katei (1870-1928). |
