Subject:Japanese Porcelain ID
Posted By: Shunkpenn Mon, Apr 10, 2017 IP: 73.130.235.78

Hello

I need some help on identifying the maker, kiln and age of these primary serving plates. The one plate is from the Hizen region the other I have no idea. Both plates appear to be hand painted and good quality. Thanks for your help.

The mark reads:
- On the right: Hizen 肥前 (Arita region)..
- On the left: Tetsusaburo Saku 垤三郎 作 (= work of Tetsusaburo).
It's a mark of the Tetsusaburo Gama (kiln), of which a mark is also seen on:

(scroll down)
Modern mark: 1960-1970 probably.

Regards,
Martin.
