Subject:2 Pieces of Chinese vases - antique or?
Posted By: Kasper K. Nielsen Mon, May 08, 2017 IP: 165.225.64.66

I've got hold of these two beautifully painted vases, can any of you guys see if they are for sure reproductions or might be real antique?

An antique (100+ years old) may be a fair or poor imitation of a classic or fine ceramic from the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming or early Qing dynasty -- or perhaps partly inspired by designs (form, decoration) from any of those.

While the enamelling could almost pass for the late 19th century, the foot rim, artificially dirtied underside and poor stamped Tongzhi mark (1861 to 1875), all indicate a date of manufacture in the late 20th or even early 21st centuries.
