Subject:Information about Japanese print?
Posted By: Mary Sat, May 20, 2017 IP: 64.30.94.105

My aunt lived in to Japan for many years. This art hung in my aunts apartment. I took pictures of the front and the back. Can anyone provide a little information about it?

Hi,
Your woodblock seems to have been bought from Yokoyama Inc. They are a long established antique store in Kyoto. I am out of touch , but they were still around in the late 90's.
Your byobu (screen) may well of come from them too.
They dealt in the full range from high quality antiques to modern decorator items.
Your byobu (in your other question/thread)seems to be a modern screen done in the traditional style.
They also had a Tokyo store, but I think it was smaller and more tourist orientated.
Regards
sue
