Subject:Question About Tsuchiya Koitsu Woodblock Print
Posted By: Lance Frazer Tue, May 23, 2017 IP: 2601:0204:4001:3df5:

I just purchased a Koitsu woodblock print of Lake Shoji, and have a question. Whilst looking on line for other examples in an effort to narrow down when this print might have been made, I noticed that all of the examples I have found show (what I assume is) publisher's information on the left margin of the print, while my copy shows no information at all on the left. Does this mean this is a later printing, perhaps 1960 or later? It's nicely framed by Kato of Tokyo, and the colors are deep and rich, which makes me think it might be a newer printing. Any information is most welcome.

This is not my era of Japanese prints. However, I did a google search and found something that might be useful. If you go to the below URL and scroll most of the way to the right, you'll notice several prints with no info in the left margin. These prints are dated 1960s - 1990s.
