Subject:Chinese silk painting, portrait
Posted By: Cimage Mon, Jul 10, 2017 IP: 62.235.96.34

Greetings to all,

I come to you in "désespoir de cause" about this Chinese (I guess) silk painting.

The problem being it's not signed.

But looking closely to it you could't not see the elegance of the work, the resigned and yet dignified expression of the old man. The strong simplicity of composition of it with only two main colors blue and red...

It's a small painting, I haven't measured it yet but it must be something like 20 cm to 25 cm.

I wonder if someone could tell me something, whatsoever.

Maybe someone knows who this man is... (you never know).
Maybe something about the clothing... and hence about the period.

I tend to think that it must be some renowned figure... and to tell you the truth, with all the paintings, and portraits of Chinese people I've seen lately, I think the expression and esthetics of this painting are by far one of the most accurate and well done.

Any idea whatsoever is welcome, and greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
