Subject:Republic Millefleur Dish
Posted By: Bokaba Sat, Jul 15, 2017 IP: 2605:e000:af16:3b00:

Dear Members,

I recently acquired this dish with a millefleur (thousand flowers) pattern. It is about 9 inches in diameter. The foot and decoration appear to be Republic to me. Is this dating correct?

Thank you

Bokaba

Both Qianlong and Guangxu marks of various types are seen on dishes made in this pattern during the Guangxu and remainder of the late Qing period. I believe a Republic dating would be about the earliest probable estimate, considering how clean the bottom of your dish looks and that the mark apparently is stamped.

Best regards,

Bill H.
