Subject:TWO LARGE WUCAI JARS! REAL?
Posted By: casper Tue, Jul 18, 2017 IP: 95.148.126.131

Hi!

I have those two Chinese Jars in Wucai Transitional Style. Would like to know Your opinions if its real, and possible value.
Jars are quite large, approx. 40 cm high and 25 cm in diameter in top open. Definitely hand painted, i also noticed couple of very tiny rusty spots. In general very good condition.

Regards
Casper

These jars appear to be in the famille verte style that originated during the Kangxi Period (1662-1722). However, in my view, the decoration on your jars are too stiff to be from the Kangxi Period. The foot and porcelain itself appears to be in pristine condition. The enameling appears to be chemical pigments that are applied sloppily and thickly with little shading. These jars are possibly late 19th/early 20th Century, but more like post 1949.

I have attached a picture of an authentic famille verte vase from the Kangxi Period from the British Museum.
