Subject:Metal Laquer Mother of Pearl Vase w/ Mark
Posted By: Brett Wed, Jul 19, 2017 IP: 69.117.76.255

I saw this and thought it was cool. The age seems a little confusing, at first I thought it was more modern, but I found some oxidization spots which make me think maybe it could be a little older. Can anyone tell me what the mother of pearl mark says? Thanks for any help, I always appreciate it.

Laquered brass vases I've seen in the past of this type have all been Korean, made in the late 20th century. I believe the lower of the labels shown for this one also has handwritten Korean characters.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Korean vase. Two characters - long life and happiness.

Thanks to both of you for the comments. After posting this my research confirmed that this was Korean and I place it's around the 60's/70's. Also I would like to thank you for the translation.
