I would appreciate any information about this lovely small shaker and what the marks on the base mean? thank you in anticipation.

The mark reads:
鴻池造 Konoike-zo (Work of Konoike)
The stamping beneath reads:
純銀  (Pure silver)
Konoike refers to a silversmith manufacturer in
Yokohama in the last decade of the 19th c.

This piece says "鴻池造" 'Kōnoike zō' (made by konoike), and the seal said that it was made with pure silver. Check this page:
