Subject:Famille rose vase
Posted By: Adriano Sun, Aug 27, 2017 IP: 79.50.156.12

I need help in identifying the age of this vase.
The seller said that the vase could be of 1920-30 years.
I think it should be later for the style of the faces.
I found on Gotheborg.com site a similar mark that says Jingdezhen make and date 1950.
The difference is that my mark has also a number (170): could be the factory number?

Thank you and best regards,
Adriano

Possibly still a 1950's Jingdezhen product with an early factory number written in. I believe I read somewhere that there might have been some fits and starts before private kilns there were uniformly regimented under the state plan.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Yes, I would say 1950s or later. Jingdezhen marks are not found before the PROC. I think there are some specific Jingdezhen factory marks that may be Republic, but this is not one of them.

The court ladies motif is in the Republic/late 19th Century style, but is not of that period.
