Subject:Stoneware 3 legged Art Dish with Heron, Lotus & Sri Yantra

Another of my buys...just because I like the piece! I don't know what this is or why it was made. a 3-legged stoneware bowl, (almost reminds me of Egyptian faience), that is decorated with a Heron and lotus, and marked on the bottom with a Sri Yantra. I don't know that it's all that old and may be a piece of studio pottery, made to appear old, but the unorthodox symbolism has led me to do a bit of research...and I've come to a dead end. There are pieces of actual ceramic grit imbedded in the glaze...also different. Has anyone a clue as to the bowls origin, use and/or significance? Could this have been some kind of altar piece? It is about 9" in diameter and stands about 3" high.
