Subject:Made in China

Got this large ginger jar at an estate auction and the mark is confusing. Made in China but Chinese letters are made in China "Japan" Satsuma ? Can anyone give me the actual translation of the last part of the script in Chinese symbols. Thanks

This is a ginger jar with spiked finial, a design popular in the late Qing and early Republic. Your piece, however, dates to the 1970s or later.

That's good, about 50 years old give or take 20 years. Not made yesterday is always a good sign on an estate auction $1.00 item. Okimono

The Chinese characters read from left to right:
Zhongguo 中国 Zhi Zao 制造 (= China made).

There are no characters that mean "Japan" or "Satsuma".
