Subject:Republican Pottery Mark
Posted By: Ian Dubin Mon, Sep 25, 2017 IP: 42.2.219.172

Hi there

I have acquired a fairly extensive collection of mainly Republican Era art, including some nice ceramics and pottery. Provenance is excellent as they were sourced from the estate of a collector who operated in Hong Kong from the 50s through the early 90s

I am currently trying to identify the marks on the pottery jar shown in the attached photos.

Grateful for any assistance.

I am doubtful this jar is from the Republic period. It is certainly in the style of a jar that would have been made during the late Qing or Republic, but the decoration, footrim, and Jingdezhen type stamp mark suggest a post 1950s date.

Thanks very much

Post 1950s is disappointing but could fit the Provenance.
