Subject:Teacup

Some time ago I purchased a Tibetan teaset -stand and lid in silver, 19th century.
I am not sure about the cup - is it from the same period or added later?
Maybe somebody can translate for me.
Thank you
Michael

The cup, with an apocryphal mark of "Made during the Qing Kangxi reign" (1662-1722), probably is no older than the late 20th century, based on its unusual brown-ringed foot. You're taking a leap of faith by presuming the stand to be (1) silver of any quality and (2) older than the cup.

Best regards,

Bill H.

It is hard to say without seeing the rest of the cup, but it is possible from the Kangxi revival period of the late 19th and early 20th Century.
