Subject:Unusual shape Qianlong Dish
Posted By: william Thu, Jan 04, 2018 IP: 66.130.74.157 The shape seems unusual for the period but the bottom of the plate looks 18th century. What is the value of these sort of plates? |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Jan 04, 2018 Octagonal Qing-period plates and other dishes like this were fairly common during and after the 18th century. Here are some links to a Yongzheng and two Qianlong examples in the Guest & Gray collection, and an image of an eight-inch Qianlong favorite from mine. |

Posted By: plasticman Thu, Jan 04, 2018 The shape is right for 18th century export ware. Some services had both round and octagonal plates provided. They both, however, have repairs that appear to be "sprayed". This greatly diminishes the value to collectors. |
