Subject:Rare chinese vase or modern piece?
Posted By: william Fri, Jan 05, 2018 IP: 66.130.74.157

It is mounted on a 1920s or 30s lamp. Does someone know what it might be?

The blob-like lion form handles at the neck are a hallmark of some 1920s-30s Chinese vases, so it may be that yours was made to become a lamp about that time. FYI, here's a link to an auction result for another Chinese slip-decorated vase of a different form and color. For comparison, I spotted another vase of the same form and color as in this live auction, which had sold for $200. What a difference a drill hole makes.

Best regards,

Bill H.
